Ridgeline Equestrian Estates Country Club Sold to Local Partnership

Orange, CA…Ridgeline Equestrian Estates, LLC, a real estate partnership headed by Orange Park Acres resident John Martin, announced today it has closed escrow on the purchase of the 51-acre Ridgeline Equestrian Estates Country Club property in east Orange.

Martin purchased the property from David Freimann, who will continue to operate the golf, tennis and swimming facilities on the site while Martin and his partners consider options for the land.

“We are excited to be a part of this unique and historic community,” announced Martin, who recently moved into a home in Orange Park Acres with his wife Leilani, three children and his father Richard.

Stressing the importance of community partnership, Martin intends to incorporate the input of Orange Park Acres residents in the planning process.

“While current City of Orange zoning allows us to continue or expand current commercial recreation operations,” explained Martin, “the community may want something completely different.”

Martin, along with project planner Philip Bettencourt, has been meeting with members of the Orange Park Association board to discuss both options, and hopes to continue an open dialogue moving forward.

“One thing we heard loud and clear during our initial meetings was how special Orange Park Acres is to its residents,” explained Martin.  “Whichever avenue we choose, we want to ensure we’ve integrated the ideas communicated by our neighbors and perpetuate the equestrian experience in Orange Park Acres.”

As part of his due diligence efforts prior to purchasing the site, Martin tapped Laing Luxury Homes of Newport Beach to examine possible equestrian-oriented residential uses on the property. 

“The Laing people are experts in the planning, design and permitting of high value, special communities that respect local character.  That’s why they are such important resources for our future,” said Martin. 

Laing Luxury’s current collection includes new homes in the exclusive Shady Canyon and Crystal Cove villages of The Irvine Ranch.
